Understanding Aspect Ratio

The aspect ratio of an image is the proportional relationship between its width and height. For a resolution of 6000 × 4000, the ratio is:

6000x4000=32(3:2 aspect ratio)

This means for every 3 units of width, the height is 2 units.

Finding Lower Resolutions with the Same Aspect Ratio

To maintain the 3:2 ratio while keeping dimensions under 1000, you can:

Divide the original resolution by a common factor (e.g., 10):
6000÷10=6006000÷10=600
$4000÷10=400$
→ 600 × 400 (still 3:2)

Multiply a base number by 1.5 (since $3÷2=1.5$):
If width = 900 → height = $900÷1.5=600$ → 900 × 600
If width = 450 → height = $450÷1.5=300$ → 450 × 300
